Unfortunately many of the state projects were started and then abandoned.

Refinery in Fairbanks: 

"NEW PLATFORM TOPIC: Refinery in Fairbanks"

Because of some of the things that are happening in the world market, and the disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, It's time we get serious and build a new Refinery in Fairbanks. With building it, we will make it environmentally green and up to standards. This is something that can be started on quickly bringing jobs to the Alaskans, and at the same time, bring money back into Alaska. Who knows how high the price of gas will get because it will sour high out of control if we don't do something about it.
